MEGIDA CHURCH CHARTERED

POWER TO POSSESS
FOR THE LORD

It was another day of power and praise of God in Baruwa District of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria on Sunday 13th October 2013 as Foursquare Gospel Church, Megida was chartered.  The status of the church changed and so was the status of the pastor.  In pursuit of his drive to empower the churches in the district to reach out and possess the land for the Lord, The Baruwa District Overseer, Rev. Samson Idowu Alawode brought in the National Leadership of Foursquare in Nigeria to the district to charter Megida church.  The General Overseer, Rev. Felix Meduoye in His message through the National Treasurer, Rev. Ogedemgbe who represented him, charged the church to seek and operate in the power of the Holy Spirit.  He said it is a small thing for God to double the population of the church in one day if empowered by the Holy Spirit referring to the experience of the early church at Pentecost.

It was observed that the neighbourhood had never experienced such flood of cars and crowd before as most of the pastors in the district came to jubilate with their District Overseer and their colleague.  It as double celebration for the Senior Pastor, Rev. Kayode Egbebunmi because the day was also his birthday and every one could feel the joy of the Lord radiating.  In actual fact, the glory of the LORD came down as the Cloud filled the altar.

Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria is one big family.  The chartering of Megida church pulled powerful delegation from Akowonjo District of Zonal Superintendents and senior pastors.  With the chartering, the church becomes autonomous to take her decisions in furthering the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Zonal Superintendent of the zone, Rev. Paul Isijola was also seen radiating with joy over the chartering.

Foursquare Gospel Church, Baruwa District is determined to multiply both in numerical strength as well as in spiritual.  The District Overseer has pledged his support to any church that want to acquire landed property for building within the capacity of the district.  In recent time the district has raised over N2m for Orisumbare Church to acquire a piece of land for about N3.5m.  The district is also planning a trip to Israel to expose her pastors to the holy land.  Arrangements have been concluded to hold the district’s 2014 Pastors-In-Service training in Israel.  Revd. Alawode said “I want my pastors to be exposed”.
